A mutant with the ability to charge objects with kinetic energy until they become explosive, Remy LeBeau's past is shrouded in darkness. Raised as a member of New Orleans' Thieves Guild, Remy would eventually strike out on his own, travelling the world and becoming a master thief. It was during this time that he began to work for Nathaniel Essex, the villainous geneticist who would become Mister Sinister. When his missions for Essex become too much for Remy's conscience to bear, he fled. Eventually joining the X-Men as Gambit, Remy would grow to become a valued member of the team through his efforts to redeem himself. Though his past misdeeds have often caught up with him, his dedication to the group and his love of fellow X-Man Rogue, have kept him on the path of a hero.
