Mini Marvels - Lionheart

A single mother, Kelsey Leigh was driven to protect her children when a fight broke out between the Avengers and the Wrecking Crew outside of the restaurant they were eating at. Hurrying her children to safety, Kelsey herself stayed behind to help others escape. When Captain America and the Wasp were knocked unconscious, Kelsey used the Captain's shield to protect them from an attack by Thunderball. Though the Avengers were able to rally and defeat the Wrecking Crew, Kelsey died from her injuries. She awoke in Otherworld, where she was confronted by the former Captain Britain Brian Braddock and his bride Meggan, now serving as the rulers of Otherworld. She was presented with the choice of a mystical sword or amulet, just as Brian himself had when he became Captain Britain. Wanting to fight to protect her family, Kelsey took the sword and became the new Captain Britain. Choosing the sword was the path of violence however, and Brian warned Kelsey that she could no longer return to her family. Restored to life, Kelsey aided the Avengers in saving Britain from Morgan Le Fay and Mordred. Joining the Avengers in America, Kelsey remained with the team until it disbanded following the Scarlet Witch's mental breakdown and devastating attack on Avengers Mansion. She then returned to England, where she learned that Brian Braddock had returned to Earth and resumed his role as Captain Britain. Blaming him for her no longer being able to see her children Kelsey took the name Lionheart and joined Albion, yet another Captain Britain from another dimension, in a plot to destroy Brian. Kelsey fought Brian and his latest incarnation of Excalibur but was unable to go through with the plan, instead turning on Albion and aiding Excalibur in defeating him. After this, Brian was able to break the curse and allow Kelsey to finally return to her family.
