Mini Marvels - Phoenix

Jean Grey was one of the first students of Professor Xavier, who taught her how to better control her growing telepathic and telekinetic powers. As Marvel Girl she was a staple of the original X-Men team, but her life would change forever when she became the host of the immortal cosmic entity called the Phoenix Force. Vastly enhancing her mutant abilities and bestowing a new range of powers on her, the Phoenix seemed only to want to learn about Earth and humanity. However, the manipulations of the Hellfire Club, a group of evil mutants, would lead to Jean losing control of the enraged Phoenix. As the Dark Phoenix, Jean would go on a galactic rampage that led to her death at the hands of her friends. She would eventually return however, revived by the Phoenix Force once it realsed the evil it had commited during it's madness. Now in harmony with the Phoenix Force, Jean was more powerful than ever before. After returning to the ranks of the X-Men and protecting the world for a while she eventually died again, this time helping her friends instead of fighting them. But with her connection to one of the oldest and most powerful forces in the universe, it's unlikely Jean will remain dead forever.
