Mini Marvels - Photon

Monica Rambeau was a Coast Guard lieutenant in New Orleans when she uncovered criminal smugglers working on high-tech weapons technology. In her efforts to stop them she was bombarded with extra-dimensional energy that transformed her into a superhuman. Now with the ability to transform her body into any form of electromagnetic energy, Monica went to the Avengers for help controlling her new powers.

Settling in nicely at Avengers Mansion, it wouldn't be long before Monica became a full member as Captain Marvel. She even became leader of the group for a time. When Genis-Vell, son of the original Captain Marvel, arrived on Earth, Monica relinquished the title to him changed her own name to Photon.
