Mini Marvels - Rose

Richard Fisk was raised in luxury while never knowing that his father was really the Kingpin of New York city's organised crime. Realising that his advantages in life had all come from his father's ill-gotten gains, a devastated Richard decided to take down his father's organisation himself. Faking his death during a skiing trip in the Swiss Alps, Richard secretly returned to New York disguised as his new identity as the Schemer, and started to undermine his father's operations by building a new crime syndicate. When he decided to reveal his identity to his father, the shock and betrayal was enough to put the Kingpin into a coma. Feeling he'd gone too far, the remorseful Richard abandoned his role as the Schemer and set out to restore his father's health. He joined the terrorist organisation Hydra, quickly rising in rank and using their resources to revive the Kingpin. After their attempts to usurp leadership of Hydra from the Red Skull, the Fisks were forced to fight alongside Captain America and the Falcon in order to stop the Skull. During the battle Richard was mortally wounded and the Kingpin put his body into suspended animation until a way to heal him could be found. Eventually Richard recovered and joined his father's organisation with a new identity, the Rose. Unbeknown to the Kingpin however, Richard had grown more ambitious over the years and secretly began working to undermine his father's empire once more. His efforts were thwarted by one of his partners, who stole Richard's identity and became the new Kingpin after Wilson Fisk was overthrown by Daredevil. Richard renamed himself the Blood Rose, taking on a more aggressive vigilante role and violently opposing his former partner's organisation. After killing his former partner, Richard was captured by Spider-Man and arrested before being put into the Witness Protection Program. He would eventually return to the Kingpin's organisation, and would once again plot to overthrow his father. After having an assassin try and kill his father, Richard was going to finish the job when he was stopped by his mother. Though he plead with her that by killing Wilson they could both have a new life, Vanessa Fisk instead shot her son to death and took her husband to Europe to recover his health and rebuild his weakened empire.
