Daughter of the former Avenger and Ant-Man Scott Lang, Cassie's poor health as a child was what drove her father to crime in the first place. While his burglaries would lead him to redeem himself as a member of Earth's mightiest heroes, he eventually died in the line of duty. The teenaged Cassie decided to seek out the Young Avengers so that she could follow her father's footsteps as a hero. Having secretly exposed herself to Pym particles numerous times while visiting her dad at the old Avengers Mansion, Cassie developed the same size-changing powers possessed by other users of Pym particles. She joined the Young Avengers and took the codename Stature.
